Congratulations to the winners from Kenmore/Town of Tonawanda

The Americanism Essay Contest is an annual event sponsored by the Erie County American Legion and the Erie County American Legion Auxiliary that is open to all 5th and 6th graders in Erie County.

This year's topic was: I am your Flag. "What do the colors of our country mean to me? Why should they be respected?"

Students from Kenmore/Town of Tonawanda were awarded three of the six prizes this year. They are:

First Place in the 5th Grade Division
Matthew Zakrzewski from St. Amelia School

Second Place in the 6th Grade Division
Emily McMahon from St. Amelia School

Third Place in the 6th Grade Division
Delia McDermott from St. John the Baptist School
